Show & Tell - Altered bird house
I purchased a little wood bird house from Joann’s for $1. I thought it would be cute for Nika’s room. I decorated it to match the altered letter I made.
I started out by sanding the edges and any rough spots. I painted the birdhouse using the same lavender paint that was used to paint my daughters bedroom. Next I traced the roof onto the back of my 
patterned paper and cut out. I ran the paper through my Xyron machine for adhesive and then filed the edges with the Basic Grey Precision Filing Set. The white mesh is self adhesive and went on great. I tied raffia ribbon around the white mesh for interest. I used wet glue to apply the gemstones and a tape runner for the ribbon on the roof. For the buttons on the back of the house I used glue dots.

Your birdhouse is adorable and you got a heck of deal for a dollar, I’m sure your daughter loves it, too.
Fiskateers must be having problems, I don’t think their site was created to handle the traffic is gets. I just tried to go to the site and got a blank screen. I hate that too, I have to go Fiskateering several times a day!

This is very cute! I bought a birdhouse years ago and I kept moving it everywhere while awaiting inspiration to actually do something with it. Finally I started painting it with an idea of adding some scrap paper to it afterwards but never finished it. Now my color scheme has changed so the house needed repainted before I could do the embellishing. Before I got around to adding paper to it, I ended up adding it to a giant wreath I redid for the front of my house, I just wired it on to the grapevine, lol, so now I’m off the hook of having to actually finish this one. But I did buy a paper mache house from Hobby Lobby with an idea to embellish it all cute. Maybe I can finally get around to actually finishing one, yours is very inspiring and very cute!
