Show & Tell - Happy Halloween sign
It’s so nice to finally make something crafty again. This was a super quick and easy project thanks to a great tutorial from Lain Ehmann. This is just a piece of a cardboard box with the paper torn off, inked with some purple chalk and black ink to give it some spookiness and finished off with Cosmo Crickets Haunted blackboard and die cut stickers. The paper is from Best Creations, green brads are Kimberly Polson, and the white mesh is FibaTape.
This is the 1st time I’ve used Cosmo Crickets Blackboard and I love it!! A really fun alternative to the traditional chipboard. It reminds me of a old-school chalkboard, it’s very hearty and pops out very clean from the sheet. Not sure if you can tell in the close-up photo, but it’s very thick too.
I also tried a different wet glue for adhereing the blackboard pieces. I used Gorilla Glue. I’d been wanting to try this brand for a while and it worked beautifully for this project. This glue is crazy strong. I’ve been looking for a stronger adhesive to use on my altered projects and this is my new favorite. A few things to note about this glue: it doesn’t dry right away, which I like in case you need to make any adjustments. It does dry a light tan and not a clear glue (there is also one that dries white). I was pleasantly surprised there was no odor which is common with these strong glues. There is a fine-tip/precision point pen version of this glue that I’m going to get for future projects to try out. I purchased mine at the Home Depot, but I’ve seen it sold at Michaels too.

We finally have a date from Comcast to finish installing our Internet, next Thursday the 16th. Bummed it’s not this week, but at least we have a scheduled completion date. My posts will be a little sporadic until then since I still have to go to the old house to use the Internet.
I was able to finish one of my Halloween projects tonight. I’ll take pics tomorrow and share it with you. It came out super cute! XOOXO

I’m here at the old house catching up on emails and doing a couple blog posts since we still don’t have Internet at the new house. Comcast did come out last week and did a bunch of stuff. We’re just waiting for one of the engineers to get back to us. Hopefully it will be this week.
I took a bunch of house pictures. Here I am all excited to share some stuff with you, and now realize I didn’t download them!! I do have some pics, here they are…
Here’s my messy craft room. I haven’t been able to get much unpacked. One of my bookshelves got damaged in the move. I’m waiting for it to get fixed so I can set out all my stuff. I did unpack a bag of Halloween papers and goodies which is laying on my desk in this photo. I’ll have some fun Halloween projects to share later this week.
Here’s little Nika’s play room. We’re still trying to figure out how to layout this space. Nika loves it!!
I love this picture of Nika. She had a blast looking at herself with these fun hairclips in her hair. She’s sitting on the floor in the master bath.
My fluffy kitty. He’s been staying close to the master bedroom as he’s been a little distressed with the move. I need to get a photo of our other kitty to share with you too.
Here’s the wonderful deer. We see them every day out in the pasture and in the front yard too. This is out towards the back of the pasture. That square spot they are on is where our barn is going to be built. The white pipe is temporary sprinklers to help the grass grow. The rainy season is starting so we’ll be taking that out soon.
One of my favorite features of the house…the covered wrap around deck. This will be so wonderful for Nika to play on during the rainy days. I’ll be spending lots of time out here gazing at this girl. She’ll be joining us at the end of this month, can’t wait!
Here’s one last pic of Miss Nika playing out on the deck. She’s really loving the new house.

I finally finished packaging up all my ATCs for the Halloween ATC swap and sent them out today. Here’s the front of my cards.
Here’s the back. I titled the one on the left “Peek-a-Boo” and the other is called “JackPatch”. I made more of the JackPatch cards as they were my favorite.
I also made a little mini notebook and a special ATC for the swap host. The ATC reads “At the witching hour hang a bell of gold around a cats neck and he’ll do what he is told”.
I got all of these super fun vintage Halloween images from Vintage Image Craft. This is a really great website with lots of free tutorials and images. They also have an awesome monthly email newsletter with great stuff in it. All patterned paper is My Minds Eye and cardstock is Stampin Up! Thanks for stopping by today.
