Great source of information. I particularly like the store locator directories. You can also find lists of different contests and design team calls. Plus, members get 5-15% discounts on purchases at participating member retailers!
{Embellishment Tips}
I’m a big fan of finding creative ways to re-use, revive, or recycle things. Here’s a few easy way to collect embellishments without actually shopping for them.
- {BUTTONS} You know how dress shirts and other clothing items come with that single extra button in case you lose one? In all my years of saving those buttons I can’t recall ever actually needing to use one for the item it came with. Start saving those buttons you’ll have a nice little collection in no time.
- {CHIPBOARD} I save our cereal boxes and flatten them out and use them as chipboard backing for my embellishments. It works great in my Sizzix Big Shot. I save any type of cardboard that looks like something I can run through the Sizzix or use for book making.
- {RIBBON} Many of the boutiques and stores tie ribbon on the handle of their shopping bags. If they have any type of branding or store name on the ribbon just cut down the length of the ribbon, once you tie the ribbon {or fold it}, it will look really cool. For those shopping bags that have cord handles, rip those out too. Those come in handy on projects!
I’d love to hear your scrappy tricks and tips, leave me a comment or send me an email.

I just wanted to add that eBay is a great place to find lots of scrapbook stuff. Oriental Trading does have some great deals, too. I’ve been very pleased with their items. But…they do send a LOT of catalogs! :o)
I have 3 places I hit all the time for crafty stuff;
Creation Station, Lynnwood, WA., have cast-offs from manufacturing plants and excess or outdated samples.
Thrift stores are like a box of chocolates.
YARD SALES are the mother lode. A good yard sale and a fertile imagination is all you need.
